History[]
Fabrik Games was founded in 2014 by Graeme Ankers, the managing director of Liverpool-based Firesprite. The studio's goal was to create smaller games than the ones worked at Firesprite.
The studio's first title was Filthy Lucre, a stealth game for the PlayStation 4 and personal computers. The title was released in September 2016 to mixed reviews, with the PC version releasing in December. The studio's next project was The Lost Bear, a puzzle platformer title released for the PlayStation VR in 2017, and received generally favorable reviews.
Fabrik Games also supported development for Firesprite's The Persistence VR, which was also released in 2017 to positive reviews. Fabrik also helped in the development of a multiplatform, non-virtual reality version of the game.
In Septemeber 2021, Fabrik Games was acquired by Firesprite to bloster the latter's manpower. Earlier that month, Firesprite was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment to become a member of PlayStation Studios.[1]
