Pixelopus was an American game developer located in San Mateo, California. Established in 2014, PixelOpus branched off from San Mateo Studio and focuses on smaller game projects. As of 2019, PixelOpus was comprised of between 12 to 19 employees.[1]
The studio's debut project was 2014's Entwined, which received mixed reviews. In 2019, Pixelopus released its second game, Concrete Genie, which received a more favorable reception. Between 2019 and its closure in 2023, Pixelopus worked on its third game with Sony Animation.
On May 5, 2023, it was announced that Pixelopus would shut down on June 2.

On May 5, 2023, Pixelopus announced through their Twitter account that the studio will be closed. In a statement to IGN, Sony confirmed its intentions to shut down Pixelops after conducting a review process over its PlayStation Studios operations. Pixelopus is to shut down on June 2.[2]
