Studio Gobo is a British video game development studio based in Brighton, East Sussex. It was founded in 2011, and acquired by Wikipedia:Keywords Studios in 2018. The studio specializes in development support for AAA video game titles[1], and operates in three locations in East Sussex.

History[]

Studio Gobo was founded in 2011 by Tony Beckwith, Tom Williams, Paul Ayliffe and James Callin, who all worked at the video games industry since 2001.

In August 2018, Keywords Studios acquired Studio Gobo and subsidiary Electric Square for £26 million; of these, £10.5 million in cash and 250,000 in shares at Keywords, while the remaining £11 million was payable in both cash and shares.[2]

In January 2023, Studio Gobo announced its involvement in the Horizon game franchise developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.[3] The project was fully announced in June 2024 as a Lego-themed spin-off called Lego Horizon Adventures.
